6th Pay Commission had ensured 50% of pension at the minimum pay in the pay band equivalent to pay scale from which the pensioner retired. However, pre-2006 pensioners could not be benefited by this decision in the case of upgradation of post as Govt issued orders to the effect that benefit of up-gradation of posts subsequent to their retirement would not be admissible to the pre-2006 pensioners.
